Linda Greven
Linda Greven is the owner and founder of Fun-Wey Tutoring Services. She holds a teaching certificate from Windsor College in Ontario, a BA in English from the University of Western Ontario, and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. She has continued her life-long passion for learning with many other courses. In 1992, she received a Masters Degree from the University of Guelph in Horticulture and spends as much time as possible in her garden.
Over the years, working with children of all ages, Linda has learned that there are many benefits to FUN: the laughter experienced while you are doing something pleasurable releases endorphins in the brain which contribute to an overall feeling of ‘everything is right with the world’. This leads to an experience of learning that children cannot resist. They want to do the things that make them feel good.
Linda creates a learning environment that feels more like play – her students love to use coloured markers, pencil crayons, highlighters, stickers, and other tools for creating and completing written work. They often say “Wow, it’s time for you to go, already?” They love being able to find things where they are supposed to be, and get right into the tutoring session. At the end of each session, we always ask them “What part of today was FUN for you?” and then promise to do more of the same at next session.
