Our ESL group comprises approximately 22 people from Asia, Mexico, Iran and South America.
We meet twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 9:30 – 12:00 noon at Highlands United Church in Edgemont.
These classes are a lot of fun; students learn to expand their vocabulary around a variety of topics. Each year we take several field trips – this year we visited the First Nations band in Deep Cove and saw the wonderful Mosaic at the West Vancouver Recreation Centre. Sometimes we have speakers come in who can help us learn about interesting subjects, teach us how to bake or cook something delicious, or show us some slides of vacation pictures and travel adventures. Each year, also, we hold two fantastic parties in someone’s home where we enjoy a varied menu from many different national cultures and play some fun games. See our pictures below.
